How to brew
- Buy an essence and some empty flasks from any magic shop – the same merchants who sell runes.
- Right-click the essence, then left-click a lit cauldron. The essence is poured in and decides which potion you are making.
- Wait. Somewhere between 30 and 60 seconds later the cauldron is ready and shouts at you.
- Right-click the cauldron to bottle what is inside. Clicking early costs you nothing – it simply tells you it is not ready, as often as you like.
- Leave it too long and the brew boils down to a spoiled brew, so come back for it.
- One flask is used up for every potion you bottle, so how many you can carry away is capped by how many flasks you brought.
- Every brew you collect raises your alchemy skill, but alchemy can never exceed the level of your highest vocation.
- Alchemy skill 50, 100 and 200 each make every potion restore more life and mana – see Milestones.

Drinking a potion uses it up completely – you do not get the flask back.

Cauldrons
Public cauldrons stand all over the world and are free to use. A cauldron of your own brews a little more profitably, and it is somewhere safe to stand for a minute.
